What is Oral EDTA Chelation Therapy?

Oral EDTA chelation therapy is a chemical process to eliminate heavy metals from the bloodstream. Chelation therapy is commonly done using EDTA (ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid), a chelating agent used to remove toxic metals from the body. The EDTA is given to the patient to remove substances like lead, mercury, cadmium, and overloaded iron from the blood. The process generally takes 1 to 3 hours.

In oral EDTA chelation therapy, the EDTA works by removing the metals from the tissue and screening them through the patient’s kidney and then getting excreted out from their body.

Toxicity in the blood can be caused by various reasons. Toxic substances like mercury, arsenic, aluminum, chromium, cobalt, manganese, nickel, selenium, zinc, tin, and thallium can contribute to serious problems in the kidney, heart and liver. If the toxic substances are not removed timely, they can cause serious issues.

Chelation therapy is one of the most reliable solutions to get rid of heavy metals. It is a beneficial and safe procedure to remove toxic substances from the body. The doctor also recommends oral chelation therapy for atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, cholesterol reduction, diabetes etc.

Reasons to get oral EDTA chelation therapy

  • Reduces mental & physical fatigue

The increased amount of toxins can make anyone feel physically tired and mentally foggy. The chelation therapy significantly removes toxins and boosts energy.

  • Prevent the risk of heart attack and stroke

By removing the toxins from the body, chelation lowers blood pressure, which further reduces the risk of both heart attacks and strokes.

  • Reduce pain and swelling

The EDTA used in the chelation is proven to reduce pain, inflammation and swelling.
